In 2017, Hexcel Burlington (Washington State) received the annual Platinum Award for the Northwest Clean Air Agency’s Partners for Clean Air program. The Platinum award is the agency’s top honor for work that businesses and organizations do to protect and improve air quality.
In 2017, Hexcel Kent (Washington State) received Leader Level recognition from the multi-state EnviroStars program which provides recognition to businesses for reducing hazardous waste.
In 2016, the Utah Association of Energy Users (UAE) honored Hexcel with its Outstanding Leadership in Energy Efficiency and Conservation award for a project on air dampers that reduced natural gas consumption at its Salt Lake City plant by 32,166 MCF per year. Hexcel also was recognized for reducing transportation emissions equal to removing the annual emissions from 2,502 passenger vehicles.
In 2016, Hexcel Seguin (Texas) was awarded the Highly Protected Risk Award by FM Global, recognizing achievements in loss prevention.
Vestas awarded Hexcel with its 2015 Bronze Award for its Quality Performance, Development Ability and Extraordinary Efforts in Co-development and Support for Hybrid Technology. Hexcel was commended for the hybrid concept for SST blades by developing an advanced system which combines the advantages of infusion and prepreg in a hybrid blade design.

Hexcel Kent has been named to a local Best Workplaces for Waste Prevention and Recycling List for the fourth year. The King County (Washington State) Solid Waste Division named Hexcel among 112 local businesses to its 10th annual list in August 2016. 2016 Best Workplace businesses show exceptional commitment to recycling and reducing the amount of waste their company sends to the landfill. Hexcel Kent recycles about 80% of its solid waste by volume and sends 75% of hazardous waste to “waste to energy” reuse programs.
